'Soph X Revolution - Lipsticks' - Review

Hello Readers,

Welcome back to another blog post. As you can probably see, I have changed my cover photo, so I hope you like it. I wanted to give it a little change, and make it stand out more. Anyway, back to the blog, today I am going to review 3 products in 1. I am going to review the collaboration between Revolution and Soph (Sophdoesnails). In this review I will be talking about the 3 lipsticks. So without further ado, lets get into the post.

Soph (aka. Sophdoesnails) is a YouTuber and beauty influencer. Her first Revolution collaboration was an eyeshadow palette (review will be up soon). This is her second collaboration along with another eyeshadow palette. Again, with this post today I just want to discuss the 3 lipsticks.

These lipsticks are cruelty free. I am not 100% too sure if they are vegan friendly. Looking at the Revolution website it does state that the majority of their products are vegan, but just to be on the safe side, I'm not too sure. These lipsticks come in 3 different nude shades all named after Soph's favorite sweet treat. Which I think is a great personal touch. All 3 shades retail for £4 each. Super affordable! I'm going to break this down into 3 parts for the 3 shades.

Lipstick - Syrup]
Syrup: Syrup is described as a brown nude. Personally I think this shade should be described as a light brown. This shade works really well with a smokey brown eye. The color looks very pretty on the lips. The pigmentation of the color on the lips is beautiful. The formula is a creamy satin finish, which I think leaves the lips looking and feeling soft.

Lipstick - Cake]
Cake: Cake is described as a pink nude. Again, I am on the fence with this one and it's description. I feel like, yes it is a pink nude, but with an undertone of brown. Nevertheless, this is my favorite  shade in the whole collection. Cake also has a creamy satin finish. This lipstick works very well with either a smokey eye or with pinkish tones.

Lipstick - Fudge]
Fudge: Fudge is the final shade in the collection. This one is described as a chocolate brown nude. This certainly lives up to it's name. Its a rich dark brown color. Gorgeous for Winter and Autumn months. This shade works really well with any eye look, but personally is my least favorite in the collection. Just because, for me, I find this a tad too dark. It's a lovely shade though. Fudge also has a creamy satin finish.

So what are my overall thoughts? Well for a collection of nude lipsticks they are statements in your collection. All of the shades are easily wearable, no matter the occasion. They also last a long time on the lips. I really love the formula which I was quite surprised about. Normally I would go for a matte lipstick as I just like the feel and I personally don't really like shiny lips. These 3 lipsticks are all very creamy and feel like butter on the lips. They made my lips feel very soft and almost like I had nothing on them.

The packaging that they come in is also very pretty. I love the cream bottom with the rose gold lid. I feel like they look quite high-end even though they are priced at £4 per lipstick. Obviously, easy for traveling as they are small enough to fit in any make-up bag.

I find that all these shades are prefect for all skin tones. I actually use these on my clients, who also say they feel and look great on the lips.

Onto my negatives. Personally, I do prefer my formula of lipsticks to be matte. I just prefer how they look and feel. I also feel that for a nude collection, maybe the shade Cake could have been a bit more pinkish as it does almost look the same as Syrup. But all in all, its a great collection.

To end, I would recommended these 3 lipsticks. I feel like they are stables in a make-up collection. They are very lightweight and soft on the lips. For £4 you can't really go wrong. They are very affordable, yet so good for the price. I do hope that Revolution may expand on the shades and make some more in different colors. This is a stunning collection, and I hope that Soph is proud of what she has created as these are amazing.
