'Revolution - Maxineczka - Beauty Legacy Palette' - Review

Hello Readers,

Today I thought I would review something different. Something more colorful and more exciting. It's the 'Revolution - Maxineczka -Beauty Legacy Palette'.

This has to one of the best collaborations Revolution has done. It is £10. Completely affordable and a must have in your make-up collection. It is also vegan and cruelty free.

The palette was created by Joanna Maxineczka, a YouTube beauty expert and make-up artist from Poland. If I'm being very honest, this was the first time I actually heard of her. I came across this palette by mistake. For quite a while it was sold out online and I could not find it in my local drugstore. But once I looked at the shades in this palette, I knew I had to add this to my collection. So, once it came back in stock I had to snatch one up.

I feel like this palette is very under-rated. For £10 you don't just get an eye-shadow palette, you actually get a face palette. This product contains 9 highly pigmented eye-shadows. A mixture of 6 soft mattes and 3 shimmers. But that't not all. You also get 3 extra shades for contour, blush and highlight. So all together 12 shades that can be used for the whole face. The contour, blush and highlight can also be used for the eyes, making this a multi-purpose palette. The contour can also be used as a bronzer.

With the shades that are included (see image 3), you get 12 colors. I'll start with the shadows and their names (starting from top left):

Canvas - This is a matte shade which is a natural brown / pale transition shade. Perfect to set the eye with a base.

Ash - This again is a matte shade, colored as a soft brown. This is a perfect color, that can be used also as an eye-brow filler. The color also works well in the eye crease.

Brick - A matte tan brown / copper brown shade. This shade looks stunning over the lid as a main color.

Crystal - A pink shimmer. This makes the eyes pop over the lid. Making a soft pink look using Petal in the crease, popping Crystal (the pink shimmer) on the top of the lid with the Pure Glow highlight in the inner corner.

Copper - Another shimmer but in the shade of a golden brown. More like a brown shade with gold reflect. Looks lovely on a nude brown smokey eye.

Petal - This is a matte purple/pink, possibly maroon shade. Perfect for a deep purple eye in the crease.

Orchid - Stated as a "sheer metallic purple", I would say more of a blue shimmer with a purple reflect. Again lovely on the lid for a pop of color. I have only used this shade a few times. Its nice to have a pop of color in a palette, the formula is nice and soft. Just not really a shade I get drawn to much.

Smoke - Deep brown matte shade, works amazing for a brown smokey eye in the outer v, to deepen up the crease.

Night - A personal favorite of mine, a matte black. For me, every palette should have a matte black in. Works well to deepen up a smokey eye, also works well to fill in eye-brows. Just a classic color for a palette.

Now onto the final 3 shades:

Pure Glow - Stunning subtle pink glow. I find to intensify the highlight spray setting spray onto the brush. This shade also looks amazing as an inner corner highlight.

Love's Hue - Soft pink blush. Looks stunning on the cheeks as well as eyes. Soft blush just to add some color to the cheeks for a warm glow.

The Gran Tan - Light brown shade. For my skin tone works well as a contour, but also works well as a bronze and a eye color.

Quoted as a "Travel-Friendly Make-Up Palette", I could not agree more. The shades are all multi-purpose. The palette contains a mirror, which is a decent size. The product does not feel to heavy, which I was quite surprised about. Perfect for travel, with all the basic shades you need.

All the shades are highly pigmented. The formula is very soft, and are also easily bendable. For the price and the quality it is quite shocking how well and great the perform. If you do want extra pigmentation, spray the brush with setting spray to make the shadows pop. Be careful with some on the matte shades as they don't need it (for example the shade Night and Smoke. Spraying the brush works best on the shimmer shades).

My only negative form this palette is the packaging. I prefer my shadows to be in a plastic case, rather than card. Although the packaging is strong, I just prefer palettes in a plastic case.

I would recommend this palette. Even if you can't wear the 3 extra shades for highlight, blush and contour, they make perfect eye-shadows. As I mentioned at the beginning of my post, I feel like this is such an under-rated palette, I defiantly think it needs more recognition.

I would also say it is a palette suitable for people that want to keep their eyes and face subtle. It works for people of all ages. It is in my top 3 Revolution palette collaborations. For £10 you would be silly not to pick up this palette.
