'NYX - Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Primer' - Review

Hello Readers,

I know... I'm in shock to! This is my first review on a product that is not a foundation. But saying that, this works really well with foundation. Today, I'm going to review the 'NYX - Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Primer'. Lets get into the review.

First of all, I can't express how much I love this primer. I discovered this primer, while watching a YouTube tutorial of full face of NYX. The YouTuber I was watching gave a few options of primer to use. I am so glad they chose this one, otherwise I may not have purchased it. Ever since I watch that video, this has been one of my favorite products that I have used. It is one of my go to products, and one I have labeled as the Holy Grail for Primer.

The feel of this primer when it's on the skin is very soft, almost like a velvety feel. It feels really light on the skin. The formula, is quite cream like. It is easy to spread around the face, without clinging to any dry patches. As stated on the bottle, it is oil free. So it does leave the skin quite matte, (for me, this is a plus).

Angel Veil, definitely helped my base of my make-up last longer. I found myself not touching it up as much. It kept my skin looking very matte, and kept my pores full, rather than coming through the foundation.

I found this primer to work really well under any foundation, whether liquid, stick and powder. Sometimes, when I can't really be bothered to do my base, I just use Angel Veil, making it like a moisturizer. Obviously, it doesn't give me any coverage, but it does fill in my pores, smooths my skin, and blurs blemishes and redness.

In the bottle, you get 30ml of product. For the price, being £14, I find that you don't get much product. I personally, would either add more product or reduce the price for the amount you get.

I believe this is vegan and cruelty free, which is also a bonus.

The packaging is very simple, and basic. For me, I like this. It tells me exactly what it is. I love the colors used, the white bottle, black font and the metallic pink cap. The bottle itself is made of plastic. It is very travel friendly.

I use this primer on most of my clients. I find it adapts to quite a lot of skin complexions. This was very surprising for me as because it states "oil free", you would think it may be too matte for dry skin, but it works very well. Leaving the skin feeling very soft and breathable. Also making their foundation give a flawless finish.

My only criticism, it that using it on tan / darker tones, it can come across very ashy, but as you would put foundation over it anyway, you don't see the ash color.

I would recommend this primer. I once did a wear test, one side using the primer under my foundation and the other side without it. The side with the primer worked so much better. Keeping my skin matte for longer and making my skin feel very smooth. The other side however, became oily quicker and the foundation sunk into my pores and smile lines.

My only negative would be the amount of product. For the price, I would have liked more product in the bottle. There are a lot more primers out there at more affordable prices and, that contains more product. But once you purchase this primer, it will become a statement in your make-up routine. Even if you buy this primer as a one-off, you won't regret it.
