'Revolution X Carmi - Kiss Of Fire - Palette' - Review
Hello Readers,
So today's blog I am going to be discussing the 'Revolution X Carmi - Kiss Of Fire' palette. This is his first palette that he created with Revolution. I am doing this review as, this week on Wednesday he released his second palette with Revolution, so I thought I would 1) keep in theme of the Revolution collaboration blogs that I have done lately, and 2) to celebrate his second collaboration. Let's get into the review.
Carmi is a YouTuber under the name of CarmiMUA. He is a make-up artist as well as beauty influencer. As I mentioned before this is his first release with Revolution. The palette itself retails for a reasonable £10. It is available in most drug stores as well as online. The palette is also cruelty free.
'Kiss Of Fire' contains 10 eyeshadows and 2 highlighters. With the eyeshadows you get 2g of product, and with the highlighters you get 3.5g of product. Personally I think that is a good amount of product.
Now onto the shades. I love the fact that this palette has bright colors. You got purple, you got pink, you have some blue and you have this bright yellow. I remember the first time I saw this palette online I know that I had to have it for the purples and blues. I do have to say, I was slightly disappointed in the formula of some of these shades. For example, when I took a closer look I noticed that there was only 4 matte shades. (These shades being; Kiss Of Fire. Bibi, Yellow Heart and Game on). The other 6 shades are shimmer. I thought that there was going to be more matte shades, which could make more creative looks.
In regards to the actual performance of the shades, they all work really well. They are all very soft, almost creamy to use. Every shade blends out very well. The shimmers are very pigmented and are almost quite blinding. There isn't much fall out with this palette either, which actually surprised me. The only shades that had a little bit of fall out were the mattes.
Obviously the blog would not be complete if I didn't talk about the blinding highlights. These are in the shades Flash Me! (a subtle green with a white shift) and Opulence (a bronze gold). Both highlights work well in multiple places. I used them on the brow bone, as inner corner highlights for eye looks, above the cheeks and also on the cupids bow. The highlighters are a stunning extra to the palette. Super pigmented, and work great both dry and wet.
I have been using this palette on my recent make-up looks that I have been doing on my clients. I would say this is more of a bold going out palette then it is more of an every day look.

My 3 stand out shades in the palette are Dominion (a metallic teal), Valeria (a light pink with a gold shift shimmer) and Game On (a very strong matte black).
I would defiantly say that you can create quite a few looks with this palette. I have tried a few this past week. I have tried making a smokey pink/purple eye. I did have to use a shimmer shade as a base which actually worked okay. It blended out very well and mixed well with other colors.

The packaging that the box comes in is also very pretty. The card itself is textured which is black, with white tiny dots (I am guessing these are based on stars). The font is the Carmi logo and is in gold. My only negative about the packaging is that on the back it has a picture of the shades, but they come across a lot darker on the box, than in the palette. I don't really go by pictures on the backs anyway as the colors can vary.

Now onto my negatives with this palette. Just for personal preference, I would have preferred more matte shades. I feel that 4 mattes are just not enough, especially when the palette is bold and colorful. I also feel like it is affordable for £10 you get 12 shades all together, but I just wish there was a few more shades to get your moneys worth. Maybe making the highlighters a little smaller to fit in 2 more matte shades.
Would I recommend this palette? I actually think I would. The performance of the shadows are great. The shimmers feel and look beautiful. You do get quite a good amount of product. Its £10 which is very good for a palette of this standard. This palette is a must in your collection just for the uniqueness of the shimmers and the colors that this contains. Even if you use this palette just for the shimmers, it is something you won't regret investing in.
